After years of creating artwork in my Field Studies series, and several years coordinating with the museum, my solo exhibition at Visions Museum of Textile Art in San Diego, California is finally on display. Field Studies: Interpreting the West includes fourteen artworks and is up through Dec. 30, 2023.

Boise Open Studios and Ballet Idaho

This autumn Boise Open Studios and Ballet Idaho collaborated to create a unique art experience. Artist members of the Boise Open Studio Collective Organization (BOSCO) viewed one of Ballet Idaho’s rehearsals to gain inspiration. Then, they created artworks based on what they had seen.

At an opening reception on October 11, the art was unveiled at The Mode Lounge in downtown Boise. Ballet Idaho trainees performed in the street for the opening. The Mode created a special cocktail for the event.

Fabric Dyeing

I did some fabric dyeing not too long ago. I use hand-dyed fabrics in my textile artworks. During the summer, I dye my fabrics outside in the back yard when the weather is above 70 degrees (Fahrenheit). This time the temperatures were above 100 degrees and that might have been a little too hot for my very low-water immersion technique.

Field Work Exhibition

The Field Work exhibition was on display at the Crossroads Carnegie Art Center in Baker City, Oregon during the month of June 2022. Artworks from my Field Studies series were on view along with ceramic pieces from Mullox Studio. Mullox Studio consists of the team of Kelly Cox and Eric Mullis.

Art Quilt Elements 2022 is a biennial international exhibition featuring contemporary fine art quilts. This year marks the 15th iteration of the event. Currently, the artworks are on display at the Wayne Art Center in Wayne, Pennsylvannia. The exhibition continues through April 30th, 2022. This year the jurors were Jane Milosch, Jason Pollen, and Paula Nadelstern. They chose 50 artworks from 780 submissions.

The 43rd Annual Contemporary Crafts exhibition continues to be on display at the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum in Mesa, Arizona through April 24, 2022. Thirty-six artists from 15 different states have 45 artworks from various fine craft media on display. From textile work, tapestries, jewelry to woodworking and glass, there is a wide range of artwork to view.
