Leftovers Auction

As I walked in the door, piles of original prints laid on tables all around the room.  Almost 100 of them! I could not wait to get my eyes on them.  Linocuts, etchings, woodcuts, chine collé, lithographs, solar plate prints, drypoint and more – a smorgasbord of prints.  And I was there to help sort them all out.

The prints have been created for the Leftovers VII print exchange, hosted by Wingtip Press. We sorted and packaged them up and soon they will wing their way all over the country, with a few going overseas.

For those of you in the Boise area who would like to feast your eyes upon these delectable prints, they will be on display, and up for auction, at MING Studios tonight, May 4th, from 4-9 p.m. (Bidding closes at 8:30 p.m.)  You can bid on the prints in a silent auction to help raise money for the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force.  Although the auction will end tonight,  the prints will still be up for display until Saturday, May 6th at 1 p.m.

The Boise Weekly chose a few of the prints to publish on their cover this week and one of my prints is included!  (I made two sets of prints so that I could receive two sets of exchanged prints in return).  My piece is the one in the upper right corner and is entitled, Warm Up.  It is part of the Kitchen Corner series.

Also, the Idaho Statesman wrote a small article about the event and exchange in yesterday’s paper and they featured my print in the article.  You can read it online here.

In future posts, I will be sharing the prints I received.
