Leftovers VII - Part II

I wanted to share a few more of the Leftovers prints I received in the exchange this year. These are some with more color in them. The rest I will share in a different post.

Kitchen Corner Series

On the counter sits a Mason jar filled with dried cranberries. Next to it a smaller jar holds almonds. Both waiting in the kitchen, ready to provide a quick snack to the hungry passerby. Small scenes like this in the kitchen are inspiration for my Kitchen Corner series, a series of linocut prints started for the Leftovers Print Exchange.

Leftovers VII – Idaho Artists

There are some food leftovers that I look forward to having the next day as much as the first. But I am always excited for the Leftovers Print exchange hosted each year by Wingtip Press. This year was Leftovers VII and an exhibition was held at MING Studios earlier this year in May.

I created two sets of prints for the exchange so that I could receive two sets back, for a total of 24 prints. The sizes are 5″ x 7″ or less in an effort to encourage using up leftover pieces of paper from printmaking.

Because I helped

Leftovers Auction

As I walked in the door, piles of original prints laid on tables all around the room. Almost 100 of them! I could not wait to get my eyes on them. Linocuts, etchings, woodcuts, chine collĂ©, lithographs, solar plate prints, drypoint and more – a smorgasbord of prints. And I was there to help sort them all out.

Leftovers VI – International

Today is the day! This is the last of my exchange prints I have to share with you, but you can see all of them, over 100, at the Leftovers VI – Art Auction for a Cause tonight at Ming Studios from 5-10 p.m. Refreshments will be served and live music will be performed. All the money from the silent bids will benefit the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force.

Leftovers VI – US

Today, the Leftovers prints I am showing are from artists in the US, outside of Idaho.

It is so fun for me to see all the different prints that come from all over the world and all the different types of prints. Since I still feel like I’m “new” to print making, it is almost like a study collection. I often do look back over all six years of prints I received and try to figure out how they were done.

Don’t forget you can see all of this year’s prints at Ming Studios tomorrow from 5 – 10 p.m.

Leftovers VI Prints - Boise

I promised I would show you the prints I received from the Leftovers VI print exchange hosted by Wingtip Press. This is a good week to reveal them as the silent auction of one of each of all the prints submitted will be held this Friday at Ming Studios in downtown Boise from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.

For my 12 prints, I have a variety. Today I will start off with prints made from our very own Boise locals. I will continue to show different groupings as the week goes on.

Phenomena - An Exhibition

Last weekend, I rode my bicycle to the first farmer’s market of the season. I picked up a library book and then rode over the river and through the campus to the Boise State University Student Union building. Upstairs is one of several art galleries on the campus. I wanted to see local artist Karl LeClair’s exhibition, Phenomena.

Five Leaves Collagraph

In my last post, I made a video of all the prints I submitted for the Leftovers Print Exchange. Today I have the leftovers from the Leftovers! I made more prints than the 15 submitted for the exchange. These are the extra ones of my Five Leaves collagraph prints.
